  • Past Chair of the Tax Section of the North Carolina Bar Association (“NCBA”), and served as a member of the Joint Committee of the Business and Tax Sections on the NCBA that drafted the initial version of North Carolina’s Limited Liability Company Act
  • Served as Co-Chair of the NCBA’s Tax Section’s Ad Hoc Committee that drafted the 1999 revisions to the LLC Act
  • Serves on the Board of Advisors of the UNC Tax Institute
  • Founding director of the Piedmont Entrepreneurs Network, which evolved into the Piedmont Triad Entrepreneurial Network, where he served as a member of the Executive Committee since inception
